1938 TB Tuberculosis Santa Claus Vintage Christmas Seals Poster by Dugo
This is a pre WW2 WWII era American medical or US health poster in wonderful A condition, linen mounted. It features deco art work, WPA style graphics of a girl with her toy doll in the window, watching Santa with his sleigh. The poster is by well known Hungarian artist and graphic illustrator Andre Szenes Dugo (1895-1957), who emigrated from Hungary to New York City NYC in 1939. His work appeared in Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle and Charm magazine. In addition, he illustrated the National Tuberculosis Christmas Seals for 1943 and 1950. Notice the bold "DUGO" printed signature at lower left.
The text reads “Buy Christmas Seals, Protect your home from Tuberculosis.” In small text it reads “Copyright 1943 by the National Tuberculosis Association.” It has a union printer's label in lower right. Original, and beautiful. The poster is A condition, and archivally linen backed ready for framing. We have 2 of these found together in mint condition, and no more.
Size: 11 × 15 inches
