1951 Vera Cruz Mexico Art Nouveau Vintage Travel Poster
This is a beautiful poster of a Mexican woman peering out into the water, with flowers in her hand. The artwork and printing is wonderful and the scene is a classic art nouveau / art deco design. She has a flower wreath in her hair, lace blouse, fan in her hand and sits by a palm tree with pineapples. The distance shows a landscape and skyline scene across the shimmering water, complete with sailboat.
The poster artist, graphic designer or illustrator signature is J. Bueno Diaz. Text on poster reads Mexico, Direccion General De Turismo, Av. Juarez 89, Mexico D.F. It has a printers mark of “Offset Galas, Mex" and 51 in a circle for the year 1951.
The poster was printed by the tourist bureau to encourage travel to Veracruz, Mexico. The poster is in A- condition, with very minimal touch up. It is bright and beautiful and one of our favorites. It is archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one. A beautiful original Mexican piece.
Size: 27 × 36 inches
